So I have come to the end of my amazing trip to ALA. While I am still going to post about my wonderful adventures, I figured I should write about the the reason I went: to help decide the 10 best graphic novels of the year. After 15 hours and 113 graphic  novels reviewed here is the list and a short synopsis of each book.
*Disclaimer: This is a teen graphic novel list which is a large age range. (12-19) I strongly encourage parents to look at what your children are reading.
1. Ms. Marvel: No Normal by G. Wilson
     Kamala Khan, a geeky teenage navigating her Muslim identity and her parents expectations when she gains bizarre inexplicable powers.

2. The Shadow Hero by Gene Luen Yang
     Hang Chu helps around his family's grocery store when his mother makes him a superhero suit and offers to give him rides to fight crime.

3. All You Need is Kill VOL 1 & 2 by Ryosuke Takeuchi (Manga)
     Humanity's battle against a formidable alien race is placed on hold when Keiji begins reliving the same day's events over and over.

4. 47 Ronin by Mike Richardson
     The Japaneses Legend of the 47 Ronin and their epic mission to avenge their wronged master.

5. Seconds: A Graphic Novel by Bryan Lee O'Malley
     Katie is not satisfied with her life and discovers a way to make changes using magic mushrooms.

6. Trillium by Jeff Lemire
     The twentieth and thirty-eighth century meet in a time-travel romance like you've never seen before.

7. Wolf Children: Ame &Yuki by Mamoru Hosoda (Manga)
     Hana, a single mother, must raise her two werewolf  children after the death of their father.

8. In Real Life by Cory Doctorow
     Anda's real life and on-line persona collide when she is hired to use her game identity to fight unethical players.

9. Bad Machinery: The Case of a Simple Soul Vol 3 by John Allison
     The Kids of Tackleford are back and this time they have two mysteries to solve. All while navigating the life of a teenager.

10. Afterlife with Archie: Escape from Riverdale by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa
     Riverdale has been attacked by zombies and the gang have taken refuge at Veronica's mansion/fortress.
